A mint and very rare condition stainless steel Swiss Vulcain Circket alarm wrist watch. The watch ticking away strongly and keeping excellent time indeed, and just cleaned and overhauled by my watch-maker. This is guaranteed to be a genuine Vulcain Alarm wrist watch. In 1947 Vulcain patented their "Cricket," watch, which was the first alarm wrist watch. This is a beautifully made alarm wrist watch, dating from 1955. The watch is in full working order and comes complete with a presentation box.
THE DIAL: 100% mint, the original satin silver dial and gold Arabic numerls and signed "Vulcain Cricket", and in bright condition. Dial with gold dauphine hands and centre seconds. The dial with a hand with triangular alarm indicator to end. Diameter is 29 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition.
THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with silvered and patterned plates and finely engraved balance cock. A shiny blued steel Bosely regulator, and ruby endstone setting, blue steel screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with overcoiled hairspring. The movement working very well indeed and fully signed Vulcain, the |"Cricket" model with 17 jewels. The watch with its original steel domed winding crown.
THE ALARM: 100% mint, this is wound and set by the single winding button and is in perfect working order and makes a delightful sound when set and used. The watch is much brighter and crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equiment. The watch is in very good working order for its age. Winding in an upwards direction winds up the alarm mainspring, which is in fine order.
THE CASE: 100% mint, the stainless steel two-piece case measures 33 x 42 mm diamensions. The rear cover snaps on nice and tightly as shown. The case number of 404844 dates this to the production year of 1955. A The case stamped "Vulcain", also stamped to outside of case back on edge. The watch comes with a new leather watch band and blue leatherette covered presentation box.
