1959 Breitling Top Time
[SJD28]
1,050.00

A mint condition stainless steel Swiss mens early 1960's classic Breitling Top-Time wrist watch. The watch has just been fully serviced and overhauled by my watch-maker on 30/12/2007, and is keeping excellent time and all functions are in full working order. This is guaranteed to be a genuine Swiss Breitling Top-Time men's wrist watch, signed to the dial, movement and case, in excellent condition and dates to 1959.

THE DIAL: 100% mint, the original black and satin gold dial with gold hour battern markers and signed "Breitling Top Time". Dial with gold dauphine hands and centre seconds hand. Diameter is 31 mm. The new crystal is also in excellent condition and there are multiple reflections due to our lighting equipment.

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, nickel steel plates. The watch with a compensated regulator and two arm bimetallic balance, with overcoiled hairspring. The movement fully signed "Breitling", and highly jeweled. The watch with centre seconds. The watch with a plain steel winding button. The movement is very clean and has been well looked after and just recently overhauled and lubed by my watch-maker. The watch is a classic example of high grade Breitling engineering.

THE CHRONOGRAPH: 100% mint, the chronograph is in full working order, with the top button starting the centre hand and the right hand elasped minutes dial. Pushing this button a 2nd time, stops the hand to give total elapsed time. Finally, pushing in the lower button, returns the centre hand and subsidary minutes hands to the zero or 12.00 positions. The original pushers in full working order and very clean.

THE CASE: 98% mint, the stainless steel case measures 36 mm outside diameter, and 46 mm to ends of lugs. The front cover is excellent and the screw on stainless steel rear cover closing tightly. The watch case light wear as shown to the back of the lugs, not seen when in use. The case signed "Breitling" and the case number of 819,xxx and 1191. Please note that we do not re-polish cases to give a new look, as this often results in surfaces and edges being abraded as is so often the case. The watch comes with a new leather watch band and a blue leatherette presentation box as shown.
