1929 9K Gold Mens Tonneau Hermes

A mint condition solid 9k gold Swiss mens Hermes wrist watch in very good original condition dating to 1929 in an unusual tonneau case with rare ribbed and patterned dial. This is guaranteed to be a genuine Swiss Hermes men's wrist watch, and the watch is fully marked on the case as such and in excellent condition.

THE DIAL: 100% mint,  the satin silver ribbed dial with black Roman numerals and signed "Hermes, Swiss made" in bright condition, with a light toning to very edge of dial Dial with original blue steel dauphine hands in fine order. Diameter is 28 x19 mm. The new crystal is also in excellent condition.

THE MOVEMENT:  100% mint, with highly polished nickel steel plates. The watch with an unusual compensated regulator and two arm bimetallic balance, with an overcoiled hairspring. The movement with 17 ruby jewels all of which are of a good size, much larger than normal, a sign of very good quality and early shock proofing to the balance staff. The watch with a fine domed gilt winding button. The movement is very clean and has been well looked after and just recently overhauled and oiled by my watch-maker. The watch is in very good working order for its age, winding smoothly and running strongly. Hermes like many of the finer names in Horlogy, had movements supplied to them by a number of companies, and they are characterised by superb attention to finish, as this example clearly demonstrates.

THE CASE: 100%,the solid 9k gold tonneau shaped case measures 26 mm outside diameter, and 34 mm to ends of lugs. The front cover is excellent and the rear cover closing tightly and all hinges in perfect order. The case stamped, 9k gold, and 0.375 karat stamps, London hall-marks for 1929, and the case number of 90480. The case of very fine quality with small post at 11.00 which allows secure locking in place of the top cover and in only one unique position, a nice sign of quality. The case with dedication to rear cover as shown, dated 1929. Please note that we do not re-polish cases to give a new look, as this often results in surfaces and edges being abraded as is so often happens.  The watch comes with a new leather watch band and a leatherette presentation box to store the watch when not in use.
