1947 9k Gold Ladies Hermes
[SJD103]
395.00

A  beautiful solid 9k gold, ladies classic Hermes Art Deco wrist watch. The watch has just been fully serviced and overhauled by my watch-maker, and is keeping excellent time. This is guaranteed to be a genuine Hermes solid 9k gold ladies wrist watch, in excellent condition and comes with a new leather watch band and a blue leatherette presentation box as shown. This is a beautifully made ladies solid gold Hermes dress wrist watch, dating from 1947. The watch is clearly marked Hermes and in its original solid gold case.

THE DIAL: 100% mint,  the satin silver dial with gold baton markers and signed "Hermes" in bright condition. Dial with original gold dauphine hands in fine order. Diameter is 19 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition and minor reflections from our lighting equipment are causing the dial to be less bright than it is.

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint,  with highly polished nickel steel plates. The watch with an unusual compensated regulator and two arm bimetallic balance, with an overcoiled hairspring. The movement with 15 ruby jewels all of which are in high quality recessed gold jewel settings, a sign of very good quality and early shock proofing to the balance staff and three adjustments. The watch with a fine domed gilt winding button. The movement is very clean and has been well looked after and just recently overhauled and oiled by my watch-maker. The watch is in very good working order for its age, winding smoothly and running strongly. Hermes like many of the finer names in Horlogy, had movements supplied to them by a number of companies, and they are characterised by superb attention to finish, as this example clearly demonstrates by Cyma-Tavanes.

THE CASE: 100%, the solid 9k gold case measures 22 mm outside diameter, and 28 mm to ends of lugs. The front cover is excellent and the rear cover closing tightly and in perfect order. The case stamped, 9k gold, and 0.375 karat stamps, Swiss hall-marks, and the case number of 578,xx. Please note that we do not re-polish cases to give a new look, as this often results in surfaces and edges being abraded as is so often happens. The watch comes with a new black leather Art-Deco type watch band and a blue leatherette covered presentation box as shown. This will keep the watch in good order and protect it when not in use.
