A mint condition solid 9k gold hi-grade 15-jewelled half-hunter cased pocket watch by the famous watch-makers, Rolex of Switzerland. This is a beautifully made keyless-wound solid gold half-hunter pocket watch, made by Rolex, dating from 1921.
THE DIAL: 96% mint, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and in bright condition with no chips and two light hairlines. The dial with fine blue steel hands. Diameter is 42 mm and signed Rolex. The inner crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely.
THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with finely finished steel plates and a Bosley regulator, and blue steel screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with hairspring and club tooth lever escapement. The movement of good quality and with 15 jewels, held in position in gold chatons. The movement is very fully signed and of superior quality; "Rolex, 15 jewels and timed to 3 positions for all climates", so the grade below the Prima, one I have not encountered before.
THE CASE: 100% mint, the solid 9k gold half-hunter case measures 50 mm. The front and rear covers are excellent, both are hinged and close nice and tightly. The case with top cover which pops open when the pendant button is depressed. The inside of the rear cover with dedication dated 1937. The case with 9k and 0.375 gold marks, Birmingham, hall-marks and "ALD" case maker mark for Aaron Lufkin Dennison, Watch Case Company of Brimingham. The top cover with very fine black enamelled chapter ring with Roman numerals.The watch comes with a new wooden presentation box to store the watch when not in use.
