A near mint condition solid silver and enamelled hi-grade 15-jewelled 8-day pocket watch by the famous watch-makers, Hebdomas of Switzerland. This is a beautifully made keyless-wound pocket watch, made in ca. 1916 with 15 jewels and running for 8-days. The watch has recently been overhauled and cleaned by my watch-maker and is keeping good time..
THE DIAL: 98% mint, the white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and in bright condition with a fancy decorated dial centre and with a tiny edge chip hidden by the bezel. The dial clearly signed "8 Jours and 8 Days" and with silver leafy decorative motifs. The dial with fine blue steel hands. Diameter is 42 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely.
THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with a three quarter plate and a steel regulator, and blue steel screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with hairspring and lever escapement and split footed gilded balance bridge. The movement overall of very good quality. The watch ticking away and keeping very good time. The watch is a 16-size, 15-jewel, with typical large motor barrel to the rear of the movment, holding the long mainspring required for 8-day duration.
THE CASE: 100% mint, the solid silver case measures an impressive 48 mm. The front and rear covers both close nice and tightly and the front cover is a snap on fit. The case fully marked with Swiss hall-marks and 0.925 sterling silver mark and case number of 155,483. The rear cover with a nice quality rose engined turning and shield and garter to centre. The watch comes with a new wooden presentation box to store the watch when not in use.
