A mint condition hi-grade keyless 18 size chronograph pocket watch made by LeCoultre of Switzerland. The watch dating from 1933 and it is keyless-wind. This 21 jewelled watch is very clean and is keeping excellent time for a 75 year old watch and just cleaned and overhauled by my watch-maker. The split-seconds chronograph watch giving direct readings to 1/10 of a second and with a 30 minute time recorder. The watch wth separate button to start, stop and reset the split-seconds hand function. This is a beautifully made LeCoultre split seconds chronograph pocket watch, dating from ca. 1933. The watch is in full working order and comes complete with a presentation box.
THE DIAL: 100% mint, the white enamel dial with fine black Roman and Arabic numerals and in bright condition . Dial with finely made blue steel hands. Diameter is 46 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition. The dial signed LeCoultre, as shown.
THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with superb gilding and gilded plate and keyless set. A silvered steel micrometer regulator, and ruby endstone setting, and blued steel screws. The movement jewelled to the balance staff and escape wheel and through the train, with 21 jewels. The watch is keyless-wind and movement size is 40 mm diameter. The watch is ticking away very strongly and keeping very good time for a 70 year old watch. The movement identified in the book, "Pocket Watches 19th and 20th Century, by Alan Shenton, pages 277-339. The watch movement signed, "Swiss Made".
THE CHRONOGRAPH: 100% mint, and in full working order. The dial with conventional hour, minute and subsidary seconds hand, with hand set via the push-piece at 1.00 in the case band. The chronograph operated from the central crown, depressing this starts, stops or returns the centre hand to zero. The small button to side is for the split seconds hand, depressing this, starts the hand, pushing again, stops the hand and depressing again restarts. This hand is returned to zero via the central crown. All functions are in full working order and all hands return to the zero or 12 o'clock starting position.
THE CASE: 100% mint, the solid silver case measures 52 mm outside diameter. The front and rear covers both close tightly, and the bow is original to the case. The case rear cover, case band and case front bezel all in crisp condition. The case with London import hall marks, sterling silver marks, and case number of 22,xxx.
