1944 Omega British Military - WaterProof Naval Issue

A very fine condition stainless steel  Swiss mens WW2 British Military issue, Officer's Omega wrist watch in very good original condition dating to 1944. This is guaranteed to be a genuine Swiss Omega WW2 issue men's wrist watch, and the watch is fully marked on the case as such and in excellent condition. The watch with a rare two-piece patent Omega early water-proof case, so possibly intended for naval rather than army use.

The list includes pocket, wrist, and stop watches. Note also, that there was a provision for watches produced before 1940 to be retroactively marked if they were serviced. THE DIAL: 100% mint, the black restored dial with white Arabic numerals and signed "Omega" with military arrow. Dial with cathedral style steel hands and a centre seconds hand. Diameter is 31 mm. The new crystal is also in excellent condition.






THE MOVEMENT:  100% mint, with typical Omega rhodium finished plates. The watch with a compensated regulator and two arm  bimetallic balance, with Breguet overcoiled hairspring and no shock protection to the balance.  The movement fully signed "Omega", and with 16 jewels and subsidary seconds. The watch with a steel winding button. The movement is an Omega 30 T2 SC calibre and the number is 9,819,xxx (dates the watch to 1943) and presumably runs for 30-36 hours. The watch is a classic example of very high grade WW2 Omega engineering.



The CASE: 100% mint, the stainless steel 2-piece case measures 32 mm outside diameter, and 44 mm to ends of lugs. The front  cover is excellent and the snap on stainless steel rear cover closing very tightly. The inside of case with the "Omega Watch Co" triangular mark and the case number of 2292.   The case has not been restored, just given a gentle clean and polish and in very fine original condition, with a few scratches to the rear cover. The watch comes with a fine quality black leather watch band and a new red leatherette presentation box as shown.



CASE MARKINGS: . The watch clearly made for Military use, and designed to meet the Mk 7 and 8 specifications as laid down for these high grade 30T2 Omega movements and with clear military marking.
